Alix Wall

Alix Wall is the writer/producer of the feature documentary The Lonely Child, based on the same song about her family she is introducing in "We Are Here." After having its world premiere at The San Francisco Jewish Film Festival this past summer, the film is now on the film festival circuit. In the film, Alix goes on a journey to discover the song's origins and enduring power. Her search leads her to musicians, scholars, archivists and Holocaust descendants around the world who continue to carry the song forward through performance, preservation and memory. Alix is also a freelance writer; in addition to being a contributing editor to J., the Jewish News of Northern California, she has been a regular contributor to the popular "Vows" column in The New York Times, and contributes to Berkeleyside's Nosh, covering the local food scene. She lives in Oakland, Calif., with her husband and dog.
